What a month Pete and I have had travelling and being surrounded by inspiration! I must again apologise for lack of blogging, so get ready for a long one... cup of hot chocolate ready?....
First stop was Kansas City for the American wholesale show. Always so much there to see and do. I was at my stand most of the time though (I'm sure Pete will tell you otherwise heheh)
The Kansas City Skyline.... wandering around before the show.
My booth - a photo with Michelle from Fat Quarters Quilt Shop in Vista USA who we see every year...Here is one side of my stand showcasing my Christmastime range of fabric by Henry Glass fabrics and some new patterns ....
... and I thought I'd slip this photo in. Lisa, on the left, is the wonderful co-ordinator who helps me with my fabric designs, and on my right, the two Buggy Barn girls Janet and Pam, who introduced me to the Henry Glass team. It was great catching up!
After America, it was on to Sydney for the Wholesale show where there was a gorgeous VIVID light display on the Sydney foreshore.....
Every building seemed to be lit up with moving pictures. Just AMAZING!
My booth all set up and ready to go ...
We were home for a week, then off to Sydney again for the retail show at Darling Harbour. I always love this show as there is SO much to see. Unfortunately I forgot to pack a charge for my camera (as usual ARGH!), so only took a few pics of quilts on display before my camera died ...
This one was a friendship quilt - loved the sashing in-between and the fresh look the quilt took on because of this.
I have never seen such a brilliant take on the Australian flag before, so looked at this quilt for awhile. I loved the simplistic nature of how this was put together too. Here's a close-up to show you what I mean.... another close-up of a quilt that caught my eye - the colours mostly - lovely and sunny!
Here is my booth all set up for the day. In retrospect I should have taken another photo of the end-of-the-day look - a leeeetle bit different to this heheh....
Can you spy my two new stitcheries on the stand....FINALLY done!
Michelle hard at work....
...and me, just standing....
Thanks to everyone who came and visited (thanks also to Dawnie who sent me the last 2 pics). It is SO wonderful to put faces to names, and also to see the regulars who come without fail - the lovely Dimity who supplies us first up on Wednesday morning with all sorts of goodies to prop us up for the show, then Audrey, Christine Book, and Kim's Mum Margaret (from Jukejema Quilting Barn, Nowra), who are all making us a little bigger every year due to their home-cooked slices, muffins etc - YUMMO!!! It was lovely to see Paula & her mum Lesley, the gorgeous group from Perth, the cute Pen who is always full of smiles, and all of you who are just wonderful to me - I'm so grateful you come and share with me all you have made and your stories, and just come and say Hi!
We are now home for awhile for a much needed rest, and time to regroup in my shop. Luckily I have Michelle, Margaret and Deb look after look after everything SO well while I'm away :D
Until next time...
