OK, I'm now feeling a little more normal after a big bout of JETLAG! I don't usually fall victim to this nasty little beast, but this time, I couldn't stay up past 8pm - ridiculous!
So at last some pics of my time away. Firstly, the wholesale show was HUGE - I guess it always is, but sadly I didn't get to see it all this time.
A pic from above of just SOME of the stalls ....
I didn't take my camera around with me unfortunately, so didn't take many photos, but the wonderful Buggy Barn sisters came to visit. These girls are responsible for me FINALLY designing fabric, so I have much to thank them for...
...and here is my fabric made up in a few new things plus a copy of my new book sitting on my stand....
....and that unfortunately concludes the pics of Market - oops. Must remember to take HEAPS next time. Deb and Jeff from Wooden Spool Designs were wonderful to us again this year and showered us with props to help make the stand a little less flat, so THANK YOU THANK YOU. They are a wonderful pair. We went out to feast with them one night, but no photos of that either ho hum.
Anyway, Pete and I had one day in Salt Lake City before flying home, so we had a look around the City.It is a lovely part of the world. The city itself is flat, but all around are these wonderful mountains. i just HAD to take a pic of the fire hydrant - we don't have these cool looking ones in Australia (not that I've seen anyway).
This was an amazing building just down from our Hotel room. It just screamed 'America' to me - loved it!
The tulips were out in all their glory - another stunning thing we don't see much of here in Australia.
We took the train to visit as many quilt shops as we could (lucky Pete haha). I don't know if he was trying to make me spend less money, but wherever we went we ended up LOST! In the end we only visited two shops, but brilliant they were.
The first was Quilts Etc (above) which was filled to the brim with fabric books, patterns and bits. I had a wonderful time exploring, and the wonderful Jane (manager) ended up driving us to the shop from wherever we were and back to the train, where we then traveled to Pine Needles, where again, the girls transported us everywhere. SO friendly and accomodating!
Pine Needles is another gorgeous shop with a more modern twist. I just had to take a pic of the inside, 'cause, I don't know if you can see it, but their version of my BOM pattern 'Pockets of Posies' was hanging there - a BIG surprise!!
Now that we are home I am trying to sort out all of my bits and pieces I found, as well as organise my workroom and store. There is paperwork everywhere - blurk - one of the joys of coming home :)
Until next time....
