It has taken me a bit of time to get back to the MAIN EVENT!! Sorry for the delay - I wish I could say I was sleeping, or better yet, on a luxurious holiday, but alas, I have simply been reading through exciting instructions....hmmmm....
Anyway...Onward!! Chooky, bless her heart, sent me some pics from the first day at Nundle, as my camera wanted a snooze. MANY of the girls had been working hard throughout the year to complete their own versions of 'A Gardeners Journal', a quilt from a book of mine with the same title. Kerry hung them all in the hall, and later, the girls hung them behind their cabin...
They were all SO different from one another, just SO wonderful to see them all together! I was very flattered that they all dedided to make this quilt. Dawn, bless her heart, hates gardening, and changed all the images to suit her such as cactus for pot plants etc - very funny and unique!! In case you were wondering, Chooky (the one who sent me the photos), is sitting on the left in the front row - thanks again!
I had to throw this pic in - all the unfinished purses were being paraded around as bikini tops....hmmmm... Kerry, owner of Cottage on the Hill, is sitting to my left - thanks for organising this great day Kerry!
...and now for my youngest student heehee - couldn't resist this gorgeous guy!!
Not only did some of the women make the Gardeners Journal quilts over the year, but they participated in a Hatched and Patched themed swap each day. Here are just some of the projects they had made. If I had known I would have been participating too - just LOVED the things they all made and the fabrics they used - yummo!!
First day of swaps....
All in all, after this fabulous weekend I am feeling very loved!! Thanks everyone for such a great weekend. I had a ball, and hope you all did too!
