New York is one place I never really felt the need to visit, but I must say, it was one place that I was totally unexpected for. I loved it!!!
Central Park was HUGE! There were so many people running, walking, playing, riding, but there was still so much space, and such a variety of things to see and do!
I met up with Helen Stubbings, her friend Jo, and my co-worker Yas, who came to help me with the wholesale show (in Pittsburgh, happening the following week). We stayed in Times Square which was BUZZING! I had very little memory on my camera, so didn't take many photos, but did some amazing things such as visit the Statue of Libery (of course), the Twin Tower site (sad and peaceful), toured around a city bus, saw a couple of shows on Broadway, went to a David Letterman Show where one of my fave stars, Harry Connick Jr, was being interviewed, and went up to the Rockereller lookout to see the NY night lights - stunning!!
Helen, brave soul that she is, hired a car and drove from the centre of New York (on the wrong side of the road in a HUGE car) to the more peaceful setting of Lancaster Amish Country. Sadly we were too busy yapping to navigate properly (oops), so only just had enough time to nab a cart ride with the most interesting man who answered our hundreds of questions!
such a lovely slow-paced way to live....I had a thoroughly great time here, even if it was only overnight on the way to Pittsburgh...
