Thoughts have been rolling around in my head for awhile now, well over 2 years, for this new quilt to eventuate. I bought these great periwinkle star blocks last time I was in USA at one of the quaint vintage quilt stands they have at their shows. Oh how I wish we had that heritage here in Australia. I guess if we did, it wouldn't be such a buzz to explore over there though!
So this is the inspiration behind my next quilt (or what I hope will be my next quilt - fingers crossed it will eventuate and not end up at the bottom of my cupboard!!). I love the colours and of course the blocks themselves.
This time I have started with choosing a whole lot of colours, just throwing them down to see which ones I like together...
So a-drawing I go, this quilt is based on tea-parties and gardens. Here is the first block underway...
...as you can see, a little brighter than my usual colour-palette, but not too bright!
