I guess you've been wondering where I've been!! Sorry yet again for my lack
of yapping. Time flies......
Christmas was so long ago I can hardly remember it. We (ie my family) went to my parents house for Christmas. Lots of fun as always! Pete never does things by halves, so I was greeted with a whopping kayak when we arrived - EEEK!!! All I gave him were a couple of books (must do better next time). We went up to his fathers house at Tanilba Bay a couple of days later and the weather was PERFECT for kayaking, so no-one saw me for a few days (unless they were paddling too hee ho).
The water was SO still and gorgeous. Samantha is here paddling with me - very restful.....
We all then came back for a week or two to continue on with work, and have a
bit of time at home, then we set off again for a week camping at
This year we thought we'd take our nephew with us as he'd never been
camping. It was his first time camping, eating toasted
Samantha, Tim (right - our son), and Harry (left - nephew) all shared a three-man tent. They were like pigs in mud (literally ha ha).
Harry thought it was about time to have a bath - what would his mother think!!
Checking out the wildlife. There were heaps of hermit crabs everywhere as well as fish jumping all around us. Pete spent a restful hour feeding the fish, then spent the next couple fishing with Tim. They caught quite a few, but threw them all back in to live for another day.
I took this photo just to prove to Harry's mum that he helped around the place. He doesn't look to impressed - a pasted on smile at best. I had a huge smile though - no washing up for me that night haha.
We have been back a couple of weeks now, and we have been flying. I had a backlog of things to do - the shop classes to organise and form into a newsletter, plus ordering and organising, a new block for the 2010 Quiltaid (more on that soon), and projects to organise for my next workshop which is happening in Nundle at Cottage on the Hill in March.
I had also promised to paint Samantha's room as she is far too old for her bright pink walls. Pete and I spent a gruesome three days in the sweltering heat preparing and painting her ceiling, elaborate cornice (groan groan), and skirting boards and walls. It is all white now (I can't believe she's my daughter, wanting white walls??!!!), and she is ever so slowly placing things back (with a big smile on her face). That is one job I'm well and truly glad to see the back of. All done!
This is before the painting. Samantha was thinking of green walls with a bit of orange thrown in but changed her mind. Forever helpful, she is washing walls too.
A little whiter and brighter. The fireplace still has to be done (and of course, all the bits and pieces taken away), but DONE!!
Well that's it for me for the moment. I hope you all had restful breaks also. I'll talk more on what workshops etc are happening soon.
Keep smiling
Anni

Anni you, Pete & the family have been busy. It's good to see you all got away for a break. Samanthas room looks great. As you said she's growing up and pink's just a bit young ............. does this also mean you'll have to design a whole new range, perhaps a new book of designs for a girl who's growing up ???? (just what you need.....more work to do )

I was beginning to wonder if you'd been hatched and DISpatched accidentally...seems like you've had some fun though, which I should think you badly needed after the Autumn that was in it for yous!
I love camping, your photos made me so jealous! Maybe not just now with the temperatures hovering around 3 degrees and gale force winds...

It all looks blissful except for the painting.

Glad to have you back on board...seems like camping was the way to go..we also went camping along the West COast of South Australia..1st time for our 4 yr old daughter..all was well until Tom (10yrs) shouted SHARK SHARK for us all to scamper and then realise dolphins had joined us and were swimming within 20mtrs of us. Nothing like no phones, no shops, no atms, no ironing board to make it a real break. Looking forward to a great new year full of new projects

It's good to hear from you again! :) I just love to kayak, but we have 2 singles, and so we haven't been much since we had the kids. Sad really... Looks like you had a wonderful break!
I could totally tell which was your son! He looks a lot like you. :)
